Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
What problem do you see this solving?
Currently Capture One Pro does not have full support for 16-Bit Grayscale images. I can view them in Capture One Pro but am unable to make any edits or adjustments to them.
For my BW film scans which I do at very high resolution (typically 6400ppi) I am frequently making additional post-scan adjustments to exposure and dynamic range in order to more intently dial in my preferred aesthetic. Having these files as view-only in Capture One eliminates my ability to do this with this program.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
As a film and digital shooter, and someone who is shooting more film these days than digital, this affects me daily. I no longer am able to use Capture One Pro as regularly as I was previously able to when I was shooting primarily digital.
Current workaround
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One? The only workaround so far is to use Adobe Lightroom classic which does offer support for 16bit grayscale images. This has essentially had the effect of dividing up my workflow between two programs - Capture One Pro for digital, and for film, especially b+w film, that workflow has now been relegated to Adobe Lightroom classic. |
