I was not expecting this while switching from Lightroom. Did not even crossed my mind I should research if software I buy for professional photo editing will support my camera. I went for new year photo job and January 9th, I can see just "in the works" status. What does it mean? Camera will be supported in a week or month or 6 months? Really frustrating.
I love Capture One, but this is making even me look at Lightroom pricing. Capture One still doesn't support the Ricoh GRIV officially, either, which is a camera that's been out for months now.
Other day, i have to ask cameras to other photographers because i nedd to work in raw... In te begginig of 2025 we know a7V will came, in december launch it, in jaunary we still waitng without a date realease, like with all new cameras, WELL DONE FOR ADOBE!
This is insane. The post created on 12/3 and yet, C1P didnt even support and respond for more than a month. Seriously, Capture One's support was poor since C1P 20 and I'm not even surprised at all.
I have 2 days to decide whether to switch to a Perpetual licence but if I do will i get the A7V support I am waiting for? Customer Support seems unable to tell me. Looks like I'm going to be forced into renewing my subscription for another year 'just in case'.
I had always bragged that Capture One Pro was a "day 0" company when it came to cameras being shipped and ready on Capture One Pro. I've even gone as far as to tell everyone that is complaining about LR not having compatibility with the new A7V, that they should just download C1 because I guarantee it's ready for them...
Turns out it wasnt. I feel sorry for my sony brothers and sisters.
It's truly baffling... the camera was announced long ago, has been on the market for almost a month, other providers have had it for ages... certainly not a point of pride for C1!
User of A7V needs at least an estimate on when support can be added in C1. Currently I need to have two folders. One folder with supported Sony a1II and one folder with A7V files that needs to be edited in Sonys free software. The latter is no solution for proffesionals. Without a forecast users may be forced to look at other editing solutions. Without a good workflow the cost for producing images to client is to high at the moment.
can we get a timeline update / expectation on this? I see it switched to in the works but realistically is that a ‘end of January’ or ‘sometime within Q1’ or a ‘we’ll roll it out with another update once everything is ready together’ kind of vibe? I’m personally holding off on using my new camera too much so I can edit with C1 but with adobe giving me lossless raw edit options it’s becoming more of a struggle to not just go back to LR
Upgraded from a Sony A7III to a Sony A7V this week. Can't edit my new raw files in Capture One. I'm on version 22 perpetual license and will update to the latest Capture One when the A7V raw support is there. I can provide some raw files from the Sony A7V if it that would help. Please let me know. Thank you.

It's impossible that on January 9 they still don't have an update to use the Sony a7v. I hate Lightroom, but...

If you use Uncompress RAW you can edit with Lightroom Classic. A solution for everybody made for Adobe. Thanks again Capture one!

You buy a NEW camera and you’re FORCED to keep using OLD ones because your software CAN’T open the files.
And you’re PAYING for that software — A LOT, especially compared to Adobe.
So… is it time to SWITCH back to Lightroom?

we had to convert arw en tiff files or use lightroom, i dont know wich is worst. la concha de su madre puta laburen y metanle pata. With love, niñita.
