Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
We would like to request a feature that allows users to add descriptions to images in Capture One that will be recognized by Google Photos. Specifically:
Add the ability to edit metadata fields in Capture One that correspond to the description field in Google Photos (such as IPTC:Caption-Abstract, XMP-dc:Description, XMP-tiff:ImageDescription, or Ducky:Comment, see here for details).
Ensure that when images are exported from Capture One and uploaded to Google Photos (either directly or via Google Drive), these descriptions are carried over and appear in the Google Photos image information panel.
If possible, provide options similar to the New P Products' Photo Upload plugin for Lightroom, which allows users to specify which metadata fields should be used for Google Photos' title and caption.
This feature would greatly benefit users who are transitioning from Lightroom to Capture One and need to maintain their workflow of providing image descriptions to clients via Google Photos.
Current workaround
We are told by Capture One's support that unfortunately, Capture One doesn't currently support editing the specific metadata tags used by Google Photos for descriptions. They recommend using EXIFTool as an alternative solution. |
