I have worked as a photojournalist for 35 years. Reportage - journalistic and event but also portrait and wedding. Leica is often used for projects and family. I use Photoshop less and less. More photo RAw and Lightroom classic (MacBook) I like the "Leica look" (saturated and slightly warm contrast-rich images) - the possibility to adapt different cameras in a super easy way, e.g. Canon/Nikon and Leica so that it is the same color and contrast . I think it is difficult today to "mix" several cameras in the same series. I think it seems that different camera brands focus on different "types" of photographers. Today, we often mix more different cameras than before. And it can be challenging. :-)
I use iPhone PRO and iPad PRO (unfortunately not M processor) - also MacBook pro. I have been using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom together with photo mechanic for many, many years. No one has come up with anything as clever as photo mechanic. (but it only exists in MacBook version and not for iPad) But back to your question. I am very happy to use my iPad for image processing. So of mobile solutions I will use the iPad. That there is a copy in the iPhone's photo app will be good. Then it can be viewed on all devices. But I also think it is necessary so that there will not be more copies of the same photo. My more professional workflow is on the MacBook pro. But the MacBook pro is increasingly "only" used to keep the archive in order. Having said that, the iPhone's fast and new usbc option might change my workfolw. So workflow with leica's photo app.
1. I upload the images from the Leica camera wirelessly into the Leica photo app.
2. I mark the images I like
3. I select marked images in the Leica app (iphone or iPad) and choose to open them in capture One (if I could).
4. If capture one had a "button" that in ONE action copied a finished edited AND raw file to an external SSD hard drive or another place you choose - (the phone's RAM or a Cloud solution) Then you have the most important files backed up.
I have several suggestions for a workflow for professionals and happy amateurs.:-)
Unfortunately, photo mechanic does not have a mobile solution - because then it could be used instead of the Leica photo app. If you have any questions, write again - I'll be happy to test it if you work on it. etc. Kim.
Hey 13626483577757 thanks for the feedback. I am happy to share with you that we are working on that! Can you please give us some context about your photography workflow? how would you use Capture One mobile with Leica? would that be on iPad or iPhone?

Super, thanks 13626483577757! I have two questions for you :)
First, what type of photography (portraits, weddings, street, commercial etc.) do you primarily do?
Second, what would make you use Capture One instead of Lightroom to process the images on your iPad?
Cheers,
Evi
