Zoom Out

What problem do you see this solving?

I would like to be able to zoom out past the To Fit size when editing without having to use proof margins or a recipe. This is so that I can use radial and gradient tools with a much larger size than the image area. This is a critical need for a lot of landscape editing and is something I make use of constantly in Adobe Camera Raw. I have also logged a related request to allow access to the gradient tool control points outside of the image area. This ability to zoom out is also useful for using a brush around the edges of the image, as well as just being able to view the image at any smaller size without having to create dozens of proof recipes or going in to settings to change the proof margins.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

This affects me on every single edit, especially when using the gradient tools. And it would be nice to be able to view the image at any size regardless of those tools.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?

Right now the closest workaround is setting a large proof margin or creating dozens of proof recipes to approximate zooming out.

The ability to zoom out has been requested by me several times throughout the years. It seems such an easy feature to implement. All other image editing programs have this option. But somehow it isn't high on the to-do list for Capture One team.

I'm working on a large monitor and having a full sized image in your face doesn't help with assesing if the color grading works well. Zooming out so that the image is much smaller gives a far better working experience. I find it personally pretty frustrating and keep going back to Adobe because it has such an easier workflow.

Yep, I've had the same need for the same reason.
