Improve Capture One

Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.

Respect Crop as it was set In-Camera (Sony for Example)

Lightroom does it, CameraRAW does it.

It makes no sense that Capture One ignores the Aspect Ratio set In-Camera. How can i know my composition when i edit my images later. Please add this feature

Can’t believe Capture One Pro still doesn’t do this. I begged for this 5 years ago. And I just repurchased a Leica Q because I had read that Capture One now DID support crop mode on the Leica Q.
Without this feature I now have to shoot RAW AND JPEG to get an idea of what I was shooting.

Please make this happen ASAP. Enough already. Waiting 5 years is long enough.

    Thanks for the consideration.

So the fact that similar requests are being merged does not mean that it will be implemented.

What I'm curious about is why this isn't being implemented. What's the rationale? Is it a business reason? An artistic reason?

Admin, thanks for merging these topics. But, what does that mean? Will this be implemented? Will it be ignored? The fact that the same issue has been around for years must mean something.

Can we just get this done?

I requested this feature years ago, and since then have seen several people asking for the same thing. When I first got Capture One and discovered it didn't do this I was totally perplexed to be honest - lightroom has done this for years, and even the Finder on the Mac recognises the crop when displaying a raw file, so it's very hard to understand how Capture One still has no interest in addressing this. I use different aspect ratios all the time and this wastes a huge amount of time for me, plus necessitating shooting jpegs alongside raw to cover all bases. I'm an Olympus user but it clearly applies to all brands. I really believe this should be a basic aspect of photo processing software in this day and age when aspect rations are such an integral part of using digital cameras. Please, please Capture One, reconsider and fix this.

Hi everyone, I will merge all those topics into this one to better reflect the popularity.

This not a new topic since other person is pointing a forum thread from many years ago.

This a must have feature since without it, we are working very hard with the workflow, it's a huge time consuming task. I'm Fuji user here and can't believe how C1 respects the film simulation but not the crop.

Capture One also ignores the set "in camera" aspect ratio of Fujifilm cameras. This was made known FIVE YEARS AGO. And in that time, there's has not been an official response as to why the ratio is ignored. I know it's possible as other software has been doing it for years.

Here's a link to the five year old thread: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009396738-Respecting-in-Camera-Crop-for-Fuji-RAWs?page=1#community_comment_17988782005917

In camera Crop

In Lightroom when tethering it recognises and applies in camera cropping on my Canon and Fuji files, it would be a really useful and timesaving feature for Capture One.
