What problem do you see this solving?
Sony ILCE heif files are not supported.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?todayAre you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
Capture One can't read any of my HEIF photos from my Sony a6700 or my 10-bit HEIF photos from my OnePlus 12 phone. How can Capture One have such terrible codec support?
Please add this! Capture One is well known in the Fuji community for having the best support for Fujifilm RAW. It would be great if you support this too because 10-bit HEIF is now supported in all the 5th generation cameras (X-T5, X-H2, X-H2S, X100VI). Please, please add this. I switched from shooting jpg+raw to shooting heif+raw, but I absolutely cannot use Capture One again until you add this.
Cameras capture in 10-BIT HEIF, which is better dynamic range and image compression than JPEG. Cameras are getting higher and higher resolutions, making many people shoot JPEG only. Having 10-bit HEIF support gives people many of the benefits of RAW in a file that's not as large.
This should be supported.
It should be supported also simply because the 10-bit HEIF format is part of the HEIF/HEIC format, and Capture One is designed to be the professional's workflow. Yet, Apple Photos and Lightroom support this and CO does not.
I'm having to use LRC for my workflow for HEIF files as a result.
