Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
Pixelshift images on Sony can only be processed by Sony software and the adjustments on that app are very crude. The TIFF file it produces is not as editable as a RAW image and I can never get the tones I want.
Current workaround
The workaround is to use the Sony IEDT software which has not produced the results I need for several situations, outdoor photos in particular. |
Support for these files needs to be added to properly use pixelshift files in CaptureOne. Without the ability to open the arq files in CaptureOne I need to either export as TIF files or use pixelshifttodng. Comparing the dng, arq, tif files side by side on my screen the tif have more noise and the dng are soft. This softening by pixelshifttodng software in the conversion defeatis the purpose of doing a pixel shift image largely. The tif file doesn't work as well as your noise and sharpening algorithm don't work great with them vs a raw file. To get similar noise to the arq I need to push the slider up to 50-60 which then again softens the image vs the arq with nothing done to it in Sony Imaging Edge Software. Lightroom supports these files so I feel with now having a subscription cost to your software these additions should also be made to CaptureOne. Please add this. It is helpful for landscape photo detail and macro shots with fine detail. Others online use it to help prevent moire patterns as well.
Thanks for your consideration.
I use Iridient S Transformer for my pixelshift images. Works very well and produces a dng file. Not free though. There's also PixelShift2DNG which is free but doesn't handle movement well. I'd hope C1 could match Iridient.
