Basic Editing Tools: Masks, Levels, Curves, ..... in C1 Mobile

Hi Evi and C1 Mobile Team,

I appreciate the opportunity to give input as to how improve C1 mobile. My last suggestions were in August and it is great that the cloud sync works. Other than that I have to say that I feel that C1 mobile is miles away from Lightroom mobile and even e.g. Darkroom App that costs 80 EUR as a one time payment. I want to express my disappointment and decided to pause my subscription as I feel the asking price for the app per month given its functionality is not matching the high standards that I am used to from C1 on the desktop.

I will really need to see if I want to stay on or not. I really like the C1 Desktop version and also that it is possible to buy per version and not have a subscription which as an passionate photographer who is not making the living out of photography is a fair offer. Still it puzzles me that smaller startups can come up with basic functionality and a great company as yours is not investing enough into this mobile editing which I think is a differentiating criteria for you and would make people consider switching from LR to C1.

I am still hoping but also considering switching to LR for a great seamless mobile deskop workflow. Even though I still very much like the desktop app.

Thank you for looking into this again.

Selective editing (style brush, masks) is table stakes for a viable mobile image editing product. Lightroom Mobile, Photomator, Darkroom, and VSCO all have this. I cancelled my subscription and will not be renewing until this is added.

    Dear C1 Mobile Team,

I would like to fully agree with the contributions and answer the questions about which are the most important things that are missing or insufficiently solved.

In terms of price, I still find subscriptions to be the second best way to work with software, and I'm convinced that sensible purchase options will eventually be the standard. Rent creates dependencies, limitations, I am never in possession of what I pay for.

There should be a reasonable purchase option for C1 desktop users, because it is one of the most expensive editors in the world anyway.

As far as the range of functions is concerned, I see a lot of catching up to do with all basic tools. C1 advertises with styles..., these cannot be graded, masks, brushes, radial mask, linear mask, color range selection, copy stamps and much more are missing. Apart from that, the functions of iPhone and iPad need to be aligned.

I hope that my contribution will lead to considerations and solutions. After all, companies live off their customers, right?

I will second this. The mobile app really only has 1 useable function… Tethering! Which it does exceptionally well and is the reason I keep my subscription. As far as editing goes I agree it is the most basic of basic editors and the UI is not intuitive at all. It should have been made like the desktop experience with sliders like other apps. I fully understand C1 was trying to reinvent the wheel here and make something different however it just doesn’t work in functionality and there is no familiarity between the mobile and desktop apps.

    Hi Ronin,

Thanks for your honest feedback and for letting me know your decision. I'm sorry we couldn't meet your needs right now, but maybe we can in the future. We're working on making our editing features better, but it will take some time to catch up with Capture One or other apps.

What are the main things that bother you? Is it the price or the lack of editing tools? Also, since you use Capture One on your computer, have you thought about getting the All in One subscription?
