Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
Please, add an option to set color pickers/color readouts as a window (3x3, 7x7, 11x11 etc. pixels) rather than a single pixel.
Currently all color pickers and color readouts work per pixel, and it's impractical because the reading is often different from the perception, when looking at the image in normal scale. I attach an image that shows a close-up of a sweater with a visible, textured knit. When looked from a "normal" distance it's just pale-blue in color. Let's say I want to sample it for some color matching and I need to precisely choose a pixel that >>in my opinion<< shows the exact color of the sweater. I actually need an average reading from some radius to get a good reference.
I hope it's understandable, why increasing radius of pickers/readouts is necessary. Images are always noisy and even sampling a grey card is difficult in Capture One.
Current workaround
My workaround to get a good reading is usually to sample white balance a few times and see more or less what is the average. However, I don't have a solution for picking skin color or to make color readouts useful. |
