Parameterized Color masks Merged

What problem do you see this solving?

Re-use of "color masks" for different images

Now masks created form the Color Editor are mere pixel masks that cannot be reused for different images.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

whenever I edit similar images

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?

No real work around

Possibly that, BeO, but the colour selection approach itself is a kind of "mask" as far as colour selection is concerned when colour adjustments are the objective.

The addition of a layer mask may only be necessary when further adjustments that cannot be applied by the Colour Tools are required. I just wonder whether the results of using a parameter defined colour mask for things other than colour adjustment might not always give the results expected.

My own experience with both C1 and another application when using colour selections as the basis for adjustments suggests that, though useful in some way, the occasions when the selection results can be relied upon without further changes are fewer than one might assume would be the case. To the point where, although one might not think so initially, it is in fact no more useful than just creating some sort of colour selection preset or style and applying that, image by image, to make the the selections one needs.

I could imagine that a studio shoot undertaken in very well-controlled conditions might have image-to-image consistency that could make a colour parameter mask for non-colour-related adjustments consistently useful but even then I wonder whether other tools might provide better way to satisfy the requirement.

I am not saying that the concept of a colour-selection-based parameter mask is not a good suggestion. Rather to clarify that such an approach would be certain to address the OP's expectations of what they could do with it that they cannot do with the colour selection alone and whether the outcome would offer the benefits that the request anticipates.

Are you wishing to make the colour adjustment for any instances of the selected colour(s) over the complete image or for the selected colours within a specific masked area of the image and not outside that masked area?
