Editing the same album from several mobile devices

Which device are you using?

I use both iPhone 14 Pro and iPad Pro 10,5" (2017)

What problem do you see this solving?

I tried the mobile apps for iPad and iPhone. After created an album on iPad, I imported and did some changes on some photos, then uploaded my work to the cloud. Works well. But when I launch the iPhone app, I see the album that I created on iPad, but I can’t access its content because the album is locked. It should be great to have the possibility to switch devices to begin editing on one of them and continue on another.

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

It occurs every time I try to use the mobile apps.

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals?

No workaround found...

Hello everyone on the thread! I am collecting customer testimonials about this, could you please help me out? You can drop me an email if you want, sharing a few words about your photography genre, your current workflow and why sync or session support is important for you. My email is: eke@captureone.com.

    Thank you very much!

I agree, having the ability to pick from the work flow from any device would be great. App feels somewhat limited at the moment.

Same here. I'm new with C1. Bought biggest option there was. For me it is obvious to sync edits and photos between all my logged devices into same account. I'm very confused why I can't do that?! And why you even ask why anyone would like to edit on phone if he got tablet?! Answear is simple - because why not?

Other thing that bothers me is no presets/profiles sync! When I spend few houndreed of EUR on presets from C1 website which add says "use your presets and styles on the mobile app" I'm asuming since it is 2023 it will sync when installed on desktop C1 Pro... but no ... there is small font saying "easliy via AirDrop".. easliy = cloud sync ... not manually installing files on EVERY device ..........

Please work that ASAP. LR for iPad or even iPhone is much superior in that matter and I feel a bit fooled .. perhaps by my own expetations but again - it is 2023, learn to sync!!!

Hello all, we are working towards a solution that syncs images across your devices. Stay tuned.

    Hello,

    same here.
I would love to use the CP1 Cloud files on all my mobil devices.
Actually it looks like, you can only pre-edit them (absolut limited options) on one device (the device you imported).
BTW: it's time to add more tools to the mobile CP1 app!  Layers, Brusches,....

Next would be, you download them to your Laptop/Desktop to work with the files.

    Hi Evi,

I found this article as I had the same question as Samuel.

This feels like such an obvious use-case that I’m surprised it’s not included by default. Every other platform that implements some sort of cloud-based functionality allows accessing files from multiple devices. I’m not sure what the point of a “cloud album” is if it can only be accessed by a single device.

I can’t speak for Samuel’s workflow, but I was hoping to use it for times where I want to organise photos into folders on my phone, and later edit them on my iPad when I’m at home, as I prefer travelling light.

Hoping this can be resolved, as I think it’s a major shortcoming.

    Thanks,

    Rohan

PS no idea why I’m coming up as FirstName LastName, sorry

Hey 7254186122653, thanks for the feedback. Can you share a few words about your workflow and your type of photography? Also, why would you like to edit for example on the iPhone if you have an iPad?

We are working on a sync solution but this use case is not our basic one. Understanding more your need could help us a lot. Thanks in advance.
