Ability to keep original camera file name / number as part of the file name while shooting tethered

Instead of using the 1-6 digit custom counter I would like to be able to use the original camera filename (the name the image would be given if writen to card) as a token. I have had photographers request this many times so that the images have the same file number as the ones written to the card for backup reasons. I know Lightroom can do this becasue I just checked it.

If the image on the card reads IMG_2222

Then I want the tethered image to be xxx_xxx_IMG_2222

Current workaround

The only possible workaround that I can see is to tether to lightroom.

Keeping the original camera file name is very important to some photographers, and it is very basic. This method makes it easier for photographers to compare the photos backed up on the camera card. It is hard to believe that Capture One Tethering cannot save the file name of the original photo.

I agree and just posted a lengthy request to be able to tether /import and maintain the file name as the name given by the camera - my examples for my cameras are: _Y8R7022.CR2 and _K7A1115.CR2
