I am lucky enough to have a Lightroom subscription through my work. I use the Lightroom Map to tag all my photos with GPS when the locations aren't correctly picked up by my phone. Using a MAP with Google search integrated is really helpful for this.
Ultimately it would be best for CO to have this feature built in directly. But it is a bit sad that you can't even manually edit the GPS information in the metadata panel. At the very least these info fields should be unlocked.
Also, as another quite hacky type of workaround. If you save your meta-data to XMP sidecar files, you can manually edit those sidecar files and insert the GPS coordinates. This method is not recommended if you don't know what you're doing as you can easily accidentally delete all the metadata for a photo. But i have had to use it in a few instances where lightroom GPS data would not sync correctly with Capture One.
