Browser Image Count Enhancement

When editing a collection of photos, I can see them in the browser with a count for how many are selected at the top; 1 of 180, for example. How many are selected is irrelevant for normal work progressing through a collection. As such, I have no status for how far I've worked through a collection.

I'd like to see this line be able to tell me the current image number within the photos loaded and visible in the browser. I'd think it should respect any filtering happening like the total count does, but should show me for the currently selected image, which position within the list it is.

If more than one image is selected, it would be acceptable to revert to today's behavior to tell me how many are selected.

Current workaround

None.

Additional information and discovery on a close workaround. Using a filter on the Basic:Adjusted metadata would be a workaround if I then selected 'NO', as the count of that metadata item would decrease and the 'YES' option would keep count of how many have been edited, but doesn't work for me currently because my import process adds my basic copyright and contact info metadata, which seems to set the metadata as 'YES' for this field.
