What problem do you see this solving?
I need to select multiple folders at the same time, usually so I can see and compare images from each of those folders at the same time, or copy settings from one image to another. I do not want to be making albums or using other workarounds when I could simply select multiple folders in the library.
It would also be useful to add multiple folders at the same time from the file system, instead of individually one by one.
I know this idea has been requested before, but the posts are several years old without any change to Capture One.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

Current workaround
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One? The workarounds are clumsy and more time consuming, but I have set 'ctrl J' as a shortcut to send pictures to a 'quick album', then go to each folder, select all, send to quick album, then view the album and delete all from album later. This is is hardly compatible to selecting multiple folders simultaneously. I can't rate with stars or colour tags because they are already reserved for other uses. I simply want to select a few folders at once!! |
I see this as a very important function; I use the same workaround of temp albums, but LR allows one to simply select multiple folders or albums, and one immeditately sees the contents of them in aggregate. I would add that being able to see contents of subfolders within user collections/groups would be very helpful. I currently create albums for various uses, and to see a tally of all images within one group that contains many albums would allow me not to have to scroll through counting manually all the images within each album. It gets a bit onerous after about 60.
I would appreciate a convenient functionality to reorganize the folder structure, such as moving a group of a few folders into another folder. Doing this in an external file manager would break links inside Capture One. This is another usage case for the multiple folders selection.
