Curves Adjustment

What problem do you see this solving?

1.) When working with curves - whichI do a lot - it is quite difficult to insert points which are on the neutral diagonal line. Sothey do "nothing" but to protect the rest of the curve from the points whichactually modify the Image

E.g. I'd like to work on a specific shadow-area of an image –> I insert one or two points to protect the lighter values (points on the neutral line) and work on the area I intend ...

In DavinciResolve this is solved by an ALT-Click. When you drag a point in the curves Window holding the ALT Key it "Snaps" to the neutral line - problem solved :-)

(ALT Click on Curve-Point restricts the point to the diagonal curve)

2.) I'd like to be able to zoom into areas of the curves window for more precision. (enlarging the flooring window is great, but sometimes not enough when doing custom tonemapping)

3.) I'd like to see a numerical input for the points on the curve

4.) Resolve has a great feature where you can weight the individual curves (YRGB) with sliders – I build the curve which might be too extreme and can reduce e.g. only the red component

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

yesterday -almostdaily

Current workaround

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?

patience - longer editing times

Hey Dennis, yes I'm a Filmproducer and Colorist and I'm working mainly in Resolve and Fusion in my film work.

Can you split the posts up? Or should we leave the requests for now and handle future requests separately?

Hey Jörg-Mark Kasassoglou. Oh, working in DaVinci Resolve feels incredible!

However, consider creating separate posts for each feature request, otherwise it will be unclear what people are voting for and what our product managers have to log, which basically limits the potential of all requests here.

Not trying to detract from your request, but making a suggestion.

As you may know, there is a preset in curves for 5 points all channels. This puts 5 points on the line, from the bottom left corner to the top right corner.. But you can create your own presets - I created one that inserts a total of 9 points. You have to take a little time to set this up but when you have, you can use it very quickly at any time. Something like that may help pending any response to your suggested enhancement.
