Bring back the Output Panel!

14.3.0

"Output Tool Tab removed

The Output Tool Tab has been removed and all its content has been moved into the new Exporter. This Exporter is accessible from the Export icon in the main tool bar, or by right-clicking the selected image(s) and clicking ‘Export > Export…’. "

BatchQueue removed

The Batch Queue and Process Historyhasbeen removed.

Sub Name and Job Name removed

The tokens ‘Sub Name’ and ‘Job Name’ have been removed, as export location and naming are now recipe specific.

This is 100% unacceptable for working professional digital techs and makes no sense why it was removed... It destroys the workflow we have all established for years and ruins our ability to work quickly. We rely heavily on having processing/exporting as a panel so we can continue other work and modify recipes while other work is happening.

You need to communicate with the real working professionals that use this software daily that keep the commercial advertising, editorial and e-commerce worlds going before making changes like this.

There no reason the developers can't make it an option to hide/show the output panel while still having the new feature exist in the Exporter.

Moved from the archive on 22.05.23.

The Export Tool Tab is back and can be manually added to your workspace:

    @ Ian Wilson

Yes! Thank you for pointing that out after some digging it is like you said, I was successful in re-adding the export tab back and resuming to an old comfort.

There is no button on the toolbar as there used to be, but otherwise the re-instated Export Tool Tab is pretty much as we used to have. And you can still just use Cmd-D (or Ctrl-D on Windows) to just output an image using the current settings - it's even quicker than mousing to the button on the toolbar, and has the same effect.

Yes I look at it daily the the whole thing has got overly complicated, I now need several clicks to do what was originally a one click dev as I edited.

Maybe I'm missing something, and yes I have got the tab sorted.

    @ En Lin Qing

    @ Peter Huggins

Have you guys actually looked at the newest release of Capture one? Things have changed since this thread started 9 months ago, and the Export tool tab is available again.

Managing to work with this new madness but I hate it. The whole program seems to have lost its way. I’d gladly go back to the simplicity of v12.

Absolutely no upside to removing the export tab; literally destructive.

@Ric Cohn, as BeO suggested one can use the "Sub Name" token to globally update the output location for all recipes (or just a subset of them).

Just use the token in the recipe output location and adjust its value on a per-export basis.

Unfortunately, each output formula now has its own export location so you have to remember to change every one you are using

Don't count on what I am saying now (as I am still on v20) but I think there is a way (token) to take about that.

And the good news is all my process formulas were still there. It's slightly annoying that there is no longer a button for the top bar that exports with the current process settings. However, Command-D does the trick. Unfortunately, each output formula now has its own export location so you have to remember to change every one you are using, which I don't think there is a way to change. The separate export window that opens is a dumb idea but I'm learning to not accidentally open it.

Apple just returned function keys and MagSafe, and added back ports to their MacBook Pros. I'd been waiting for this before buying a new one (which I just ordered). Companies do dumb things, I hope CaptureOne will learn from this one.

Just right click on the tool tabs area, choose Add Tool Tab, and select Export.

Huan and Peter, they sorted this issue out nearly a month ago. You can add all the process and batch tools into custom tabs now to give the same functionality as before and never have to use the pop up export window.
Sounds like you may have missed the update!!

I'm now trying Lightroom as an alternative, which would streamline with my other apps and It's free with my photography package with adobe. It's not as good from a workflow perspective but if I've got to change the way I work then at least I'll save some money every month. It must be a simple matter to reinstate the batch and process windows from the last iteration, why won't they listen.

User of CO1 since version 6.  This is by far the dumbest change you can ever do.

Its like telling a person to switch hand and write an essay.  Seriously guys, PUT IT BACK !!!

I am considering rolling back to the old version because of this.

    Hi Peter,

I'm not sure if you mean the same export button in C1 Version 14.4:
When I press the Export button (or the shortcut CMD-D) in the Export Toolbar under the Recipes, it behaves the same as before, the images are exported immediately without any further message or window.

It seems to be the same behavior as before (Version 14.2). Or am I missing something? By the way, I don't really understand what the other Export Window is good for...

I am still unsure whether to update to version 14.4. (from 14.2. with the good old export feature)

    Greetings

    Thomas

    Peter, I am with you.

I told them too I'd like to have this one-button-click for processing bac.

They seem to love either their keyboards (because you can do sooooo much with the keyboard shortcuts) or they love their mice (because they keep on introducing more clicks into the software)...

C1 Folks, more or changed functionality should not translate into more clicks for standard procedures...

(Unfortunately, the C1 folks didn't listen or disregarded my opinion..)

Peter - you're right in that there is no longer a button. However, I gave up using the button years ago in favour of the Keyboard shortcut which does exactly the same thing. Cmd-D on a Mac, not sure whether it's Ctrl-D or Alt-D on Windows. I find it even quicker.

Yes but that just seems to open the export window - more clicks in the day! I've got around it by opening a floating export recipe window which has a button which does the same as the old process button. Clunky but I can now get back close to my old workflow. I'm going to investigate Lightroom ( which is free in my adobe package) as this makes me realise my loyalty to phase one is not appreciated. Many hours wasted!
