Support also JPG/Heic Files for cloud transfer

Would love to work via the capture one cloud also on jpg and heic files (not only raw) esp. iPhone <-> desktop but also iPhone <-> IPad (when traveling light)!

Thanks

Hello H.K. and thanks so much for your thorough response, it's much appreciated :)

What do you usually shoot? and if you are up for it, I would really love to have a short chat with you. Drop me a line at eke@captureone.com if you are interested and I can set it up.

Regarding your request, we are working on a solution that will improve significantly the work across devices. Much better and faster than the cloud transfer service we provide today. JPEGs and HEIFs will be synced across devices - there might be other limitations that I am not aware of but I have tagged my colleagues on the post and they might chip in. So stay tuned :)  Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback and for using our software.

    Dear Ms. Evi K,

Here is some more background info which I hope will help you:

Due to simplicity and as the mobile phone cameras get better and better, I shoot on more and more occasions some (extra) photos just with my I-Phone, and there most of the time in HEIC and not in RAW (Reason -> Filesize sometimes also upload data / upload speed). I also get form time to time some (extra) photos as JPG´s e.g. from other mobile-phones which belong somehow to a "session". So I have at the beginning all pictures on my I-Phone and can immediately start to cull and do basic edits with Capture One - mobile (as soon as I have some time left). Therefore I´m using the mobile app - and the results can be really great even with JPG´s. But sometimes the editing possibilities in the app are too limited and/or the screen of my phone is too small for precise work. Therefore I´m looking for a simple and fast way to continue the work on my Capture One desktop Version. For this I wanted to share also the HEIC/JPG´s via the capture one could, just as I can do it with RAW files. But for HEIC/Jpg files, the preview in Capture One desktop as well as the automatically imported pictures in the session remain black (unsupported) whereby they were of course editable in the capture one mobile app.-> That´s my problem.

A further issue is also, pictures (Jpg/HEIC and even RAW-files) edited on my I-Phone can not be further shared and edited via the Capture One cloud with my I-Pad. I don´t have always my laptop or desktop with me and when I started to edit on my I-Phone it would be super if I could simply continue the work (via the capture one cloud) on my I-Pad (bigger display) and maybe later the desktop and finally get also all back to my I-Phone...

So the big advantage of cloud systems are to me EASY and FAST Cross-Platform editing possibilities - in this case for all pictures - without the need for workarounds (e.g. export to dropbox) and without loosing work/time. This is what I´m still missing most with the Capture One Cloud (or what I simply make wrong in my workflow??) but I think quite a few other photographers could miss the same or have the same problem...?

Therefore I spent the time to explained this so in detail.

I hope this answers your questions.

    Regards H.K.

Hello! Thanks for your feedback. This is very interesting request.  Could you please elaborate on why you need this? what is your workflow considering HEIC/JPEG files ? What happens after you import them to desktop / iPad and why is it important for you? Looking forward to your response :)
