Request a new feature, or support for a camera/lens that you would like to use in Capture One.
I'm loving the Content Credentials beta. However, the only information that can be signed right now appears to be the producer/creator credit and the history (and I assume the thumbnail and ingredient file name, which are not optional).
First, please add the ability to optionally sign additional metadata in the image (copyright, creator, location, date/time, etc.). This is supported in C2PA here: https://c2pa.org/specifications/specifications/1.4/specs/C2PA_Specification.html#_common_metadata (which deprecated the EXIF/IPTC-specific assertions).
Second, let creators add metadata identifying them more fully using for example their social profiles and/or domains (Adobe allows this). See for example https://c2pa.org/specifications/specifications/1.4/specs/C2PA_Specification.html#_creative_work
Third, please document precisely what information is being transmitted to Capture One servers (or third-party servers) to perform the Content Credential generation/signature (is it the actual image, the actual thumbnail, just hashes of that + metadata, etc.?).
Finally, please make sure this credentials feature remains optional (as it is right now) - don't force credentials on the users like some of your competitors do, and continue to let creators choose exactly what to include vs. not include (sometimes the input image has a thumbnail that needs to be cropped out for privacy for example, and you don't want to include the history).
Current workaround
I duplicate my copyright in the creator/producer line since that is the only signable metadata I can currently control. |
I'm a photojournalist and I don't need the “ALL INE ONE”. The “PRO” version is more than enough for me.
The software is already expensive enough compared to its alternatives. So yes, put the C2PA in all versions of capture one.
